  • MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:
  • Provides technical support and advice to ensure quality accounts management and bookkeeping.
  • Assistance in proper keeping of the general ledger.

  • Ensures facilitation of knowledge building and knowledge sharing in the Project.
  • Document, analyze, and identify areas for improving existing accounting policies and practices.
  • Design a routine-expenditures accounting system and procedures.
  • Design a development-expenditures accounting system and procedures.
  • Design a costing system and procedures for key financial services.
  • Design a fixed-assets accounting system and procedures.
  • Assist in developing financial reporting formats/templates that integrate revenue administration and expenditure accounting.
  • Guide subordinates in implementing guidelines and procedures for financial data gathering, processing, and report preparation.
  • Provide continuing technical assistance to Badar Asfour projects in applying the various financial management systems, including the issuance of relevant internal and external financial reports.
  • Ensure full compliance of financial activities, financial recording/reporting and audit follow up with Badar Asfour rules, regulations, policies and strategies
  • Ensure that approaches, methodologies, processes, and results are documented in manuals as basis for future replication and up-scaling
  • Perform tasks and assume other responsibilities that may be assigned by your immediate supervisor and/or the Badar Asfour management for the improvement of accounting management unit.
  • Support in the filing of the documents within the finance department.
  • Any other task as assigned by the Head of Department or the reporting supervisor.
  • SPECIFICATIONS (MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS):
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, is required. Professional accountancy designation from a recognized institution, would be desirable.
  • Minimum 2 to 3 years of work experience with exposure to accounting, Finance, Finance administration or economics with national or international organizations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office package components
  • Advanced hands-on production and adaptation of pivot tables/formulas in Excel
  • Use of accounting packages and databases preferred
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English as well as local languages
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work in team
